USAGE

To prepare 10-12 American-style pancakes (8-10 cm in diameter) or up to 5 large waffles, mix 200g of the mix (half a pack) with half a sachet (1 teaspoon) of baking powder and add 160 ml of cold water. Mix until smooth. Alternatively, use the entire pack (400g) mixed with one sachet of baking powder and 320 ml of cold water.

For pancakes: Prepare the batter as directed. Grease a pan with a bit of butter, ghee, or your preferred fat, and pour a few tablespoons of the mixture into the center. Cook on medium heat and flip when one side is nicely browned. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

For waffles: Prepare the batter as directed. Heat the waffle iron. Grease the cooking plates with melted butter, ghee, or your preferred fat, and pour one scoop of the mixture into the center. Close the iron and cook for a few minutes until the waffles are golden brown.

For Kaiserschmarrn (Austrian shredded pancakes): Prepare the batter as directed. Melt a piece of butter, ghee, or your preferred fat in a pan. Pour 1-2 scoops of the mixture into the pan, cover, and cook on low heat until the batter sets. Divide into halves or quarters for easier flipping, turn, and cook on the other side. Just before finishing, tear it into small pieces and fry until golden brown.

TIP: You can serve with fruit or chocolate spreads without added sugar. Cooked pancakes and waffles can be stored in the fridge for a few days or frozen.

Store in a cool, dry place.
